Hugs and Kisses

When you are admitted into the hospital, they adorn your wrists with the most in style plastic bracelets around. They have vital information on them including your name, date of birth, any allergies you may have, if you are diabetic and so on. This is to keep you safe. When I was admitted to have Rebekah, I had what seemed like a million things taped on me, stuck in me, and wrapped around me. LOL All in the name of keeping me safe. I did, however, have one favorite bracelet. I shared this bracelet with one other person...Rebekah. They are call Kisses and Hugs. I wore one that said Kisses on my wrist and she wore a tiny look-a-like names Hugs. They were security bracelets! They best part of them....It chimed a tune (lullaby) whenever I came close to her. It basically said that "I'm the mama". When she had been away from me for more than 30 minutes, it chimed. This made me happy. I got up out of bed to head to the bathroom, and walked past Rebekah asleep in her crib, and it chimed. It made me stop and smile. I looked at John and said, "aawww...I'm the mama". If I had gotten close to any other baby, an awful sound is suppose to come out of them as if to say, "you're not the mama, I don't belong to you!" What a concept! As I have thought about writing this blog over the last few days, I have been impressed with the idea that God feels the same way about me. I am His. I don't wear a bracelet or anything that sings to the world that I am His, but I am known by the way I act and the attitude that I have. I loved hearing the tune that went off from the bracelet when I came close to my child...I wonder if God loves the sound that comes from me.

The Roberson FIVE!

Well...She is here. Rebekah LeeAnne Roberson arrived on July 21, 2011 at 6:32am weighing in at 6lbs 10oz 20 3/4 inches long. She is absolutely beautiful! I am so very proud of her. So now we are the proud parents to 3 wonderful children. I wanted to get her pic out on here so all could see. I will start blogging about what is happening in life since baseball finished up and since Bekah arrived at a later time.

Starting....1st game!

Tonight instead of a game, John actually had baseball practice! He told me on the way to practice that he was really going to push himself hard when they ran. I was really proud of the way that he did. He also got in front of the ball and was really trying to cover the other players, just in case they missed the ball. He hasn't been playing much over the last couple of games and he has had a great attitude about it. With this being his first year, he really does need time to learn how to be a team player and learn the ins and outs (no pun intended) of the game. I digress....after practice tonight, one of the coaches pulled him aside and told him that he is going to be starting the game tomorrow night against Branson! He was so excited that as we pulled away in the van he asked for the windows to be rolled up so he could holler in excitement! Too Funny!

My Dr. appt. went really well on Tuesday. I had the first of my weekly Non-Stress Test. I passed with flying colors she said. Had one good contraction and got Rebekah moving and shaking. The goal is to irritate the snot out of the baby and see how her heart is reacting to it. Again, too funny! We did get see her heart and the individual valves pumping, her kidneys, and her stomach. We even got to watch her swallow the amniotic fluid. Pretty cool. It is totally amazing how God created us to grow from nothing and in 9 months.....baby! We are truly fearfully and wonderfully made!

A little shocked, slightly scared, and very excited!

I went to the Dr on Monday, (finally after 6 weeks of not seeing him), and he told me that everything looked great. He was very pleased with my sugars and when he measured me and then check on her heartbeat, said that things were going well. I asked him if how soon we should start talking about his opinion on inducing, how far he was going to let me go, and how early is too early for me to go into labor. The answers that I received shocked me. He told me that I would only go to 39 weeks max! Then he told me that if I would happen to go into labor on my own and I was 35 weeks or more, he would just let me go....really...that is only 3 more weeks. I have been contracting quite a bit here lately. He told me that I have probably been dehydrated and that being out in the heat would make me contract.

I am so very excited to have her here. I can't wait to see her to see what she looks like, what color of hair she will have ( or will she have any at all when she comes out), will she look more like John or like Michaela, or will she have her own little identity. I do still like the idea of being able to lay down at night when I want to go to bed and not have to worry about putting a baby down. I know that that part of having a baby will come soon enough. Those are all little things compared to the joys of having another baby! I know that I have said this before, but I can't believe that it has really gone this quick!

John has been doing very well with baseball. He is learning more, making great friends, and he is learning to be patient and encouraging with his other teammates. He is also learning to control his temper. All in all baseball has been a very good thing. My only wish is that he was able to get in it when he was younger. Oh well, you can't go back in time.

9 weeks left...

I have recently realized that it is always viewed differently if you say it different each time...allow me to explain.

I am 30 weeks pregnant. I could say I am 7 months pregnant which says I have 2 month until I deliver our baby girl. On the flip side, I could say I only have 9 weeks left, which in my case I really only have probably 7- or 8 maximum. I just don't think that I will go all the way to 40 weeks. When you say you have 2 months left, that seems like a long time. When you say I have 9 weeks left and then think of all the things we are going to be involved in in the next 9 weeks....oh my, it takes on a whole new look!

We have a very busy week coming up. John's baseball schedule has officially become insane. He has a double header tomorrow and then a tournament this weekend. This means... game on Thursday, Friday Saturday, Sunday (maybe), Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday is church, and then a game on Thursday. I really think that the next few weeks are going to fly by very quickly. I am not going to have time to think about how long we have left.

I do believe that we are all getting very excited. Rebekah is moving around more, but it is more than just rolling and tumbling. She is starting to get a bit cramped, therefore, she is just simply starting to kick and push. I love it! I will start going to the specialist once a week start on June 14th. They are going to be measuring everything with ultrasounds and then hooking me up to a fetal monitor to check her heart rate for 30 minutes and see if I am contracting and if so how often and how intense. This in one reason I don't think I will go to 40 weeks.

Still have not thought of a new name for the blog. John also wants to come up with a new email address. Not sure how that one will work. Maybe I will just focus on the blog for now! :) I suppose I should call it a night.

A New Name

As John and I were chatting last night, he decided to look up this blog and re-read some of the things we have put on here. I realized that I probably should change the name. The Roberson Four just doesn't seem to fit anymore. What should I change it to? The Roberson Five? I would love to come up with something a bit more unique. If you have any suggestions, please feel free to let me know. :)

On a separate note, I was also told last night by my wonderful husband that I really should update this blog. It has been since February that I posted the last time. I guess I have had other things to do or just really hadn't thought much about it. We are progressing right along with the pregnancy. Everything seems to be going the way that God would have them to go. We have chosen a name for our new baby girl, Rebekah LeeAnne Roberson. She is growing well and everything seems to be in its place. God is allowing me to go to the doctor quite a bit so we get to see many pictures of her. Good for us, not so good for the pocketbook! I am trying to decide how long I am going to carry her. I went to 39 weeks with John and 37 with Michaela. My mom seems to thinks that I could go early in July....that would be a bit too early. It just isn't out of the question I guess. I really would love to keep her birthday more than a week from John's. I have this thing about everyone having their own birthday. Crazy I know. She has been very active today. That's a good thing, because I am suppose to be counting her movements 2 times a day. It just makes it easier on me! :)

John and Michaela are doing great. They are very excited about Rebekah. Can't wait for her to get here. They were able to SEE her move in my tummy today and it was funny to see their reactions to it. With a maximum of 9-11 weeks left, they are just ready to hold her. I know how they feel! So exciting. They are both going to be done with school for this year next week. John will be finishing 7th grade and Michaela will finish 3rd. There will be many changes to next years school....so I really do want to prepare early!

I guess I should leave on that note. I must get ready for church. I will try to be more faithful in posting in the future. It's fun to go back and read them. So many details that were forgotten.

So different...

This pregnancy has been so very different than my first two. I've had my cravings and the things that I can even be around the smell, but with this one it is more texture than anything. I just go to the fridge and stand there hoping that something sounds and looks good to eat. The trick is getting something to sound and look good and also be something that I can have with my diabetes. I put whatever it is in my mouth and 9 times out of 10 it is coming out. Not throwing up, but spitting out. YUCK! So far, it has been beans and cornbread all the way! YUM!!! The good thing is that I have not gain one ounce since being pregnant. I'm not being unsafe with eating...just eating the right way! We are so very excited! The next few months are going to be the best. I am going to try to cherish every moment knowing that is is probably our last one.

Where have I heard that before.......

Baby News

On December 1, 2010, John and I found out that we were expecting our third baby. Yes, it was a bit of a shock, but we are over the moon excited about it. It is amazing to me that we are going to go through all the things that come with babies. We are older now, and I pray that we can take what we have learned with John and Michaela and apply those things to this next one. I would like to think that we have learned a thing or two and also learned what we would do different. The kiddos are also very excited. That are fighting over whose room the baby will get to sleep in...I'm sure that will come to an end when the baby is waking up at 2 am and keeping them up. They have nicknamed the baby Smalls...so I guess from here on out that is the way I will refer to him/her. That brings me to another thought....John Richard asked me which one I would prefer to have, a boy or a girl...I can honestly say that I don't care. I have one of each and this will just be an added bonus!

I am going to try to blog about this pregnancy, because I simply don't want to forget anything. This one is going to be very different from my other two. I went into this one with Type 2 diabetes. Here I sit at 12 weeks and I have been on insulin for one week. I was very nervous about it, but I am really giving myself the shots like it is second nature. I don't care for it but it is what I have to do for the health of myself and most importantly the baby.
